components
Multiple handing options
Connectors, displays, power and large passive components still feature
on many circuit assemblies. Automating the placement of such devices is
critical for accuracy and throughput by removing manual intervention. On
the atom3 machine, devices up to 99mm x 99mm in size can be placed by
the Tornado-8 head. Oddform components, heavy components up to 300
grams in weight and 34mm in height, and even through-hole components
can be handled by gripper nozzles and a range of large air suction cup
nozzles. Special nozzle tool banks accommodate grippers and suction cup
nozzles, while a nozzle kit allows customization to suit specific components
and permits the use of multiple air suction cups concurrently. With these
nozzle options, large, heavy and oddform components are placed with the
same precision as small devices.
