A new machine software release will be available in November.
RC 5.15
It features the following improvements:
Part number 32 characters:
Previously part numbers programmed in the intelligent feeder's memory were limited to 16 characters, from RC 5.15 part numbers up to 32 characters can be used. Feeders do not need to be upgraded, the software version of the micro terminal used to program the feeders will need to be updated. This new feature is only available using the micro terminal in wi-fi.
NPi

A new wizard has been embedded in the production menu. It is used to validate a new production before placing any component. After loading the new pcb in the machine, the operator just have to follow the different steps helping him to check and validate all parameters involved in the new product. When an error is detected, the software allows the operator to do corrections and test without exiting the Production menu. Fiducial marks, placement coordinates and orientation of the components (an overlay is placed on top of the image), nozzles, feeders set up and feeders controls will be validated. The operator has the possibility to delete some items, patterns and references (new). The production can then start safely without any further adjustment.
New vision algorithms

New vision algorithms allows the analyze of bga’s with very high ball count up to 100 per row, QFN, BGA algor. with square shape instead of circle for leads, odd shape qfp’s with irregular pitch or very special component on demand.
Local library
Multi-machines lines normally share the same library. In such a case, modification done on one machine affect the others as well, even if it was only for testing. Now modifications are done in a local library, keeping a global library shared for the line. When modifications are validated in local, they may be applied globally. Access to modification can be restricted, depending on operator
Coded tape trolley elements
A 2D code can now be fitted on tape trolley elements, using the scanner of the Wi-Fi micro-terminal the operator links the element with the reel: Scans the element, scans the part number on the reel and validates, the links are saved in a database. The element fitted with the reel can be stored on the preparation trolley or on a passive storage rack. When installing the elements on the trolley, he can set the elements at random positions. During the auto configuration sequence, the machine will scan all elements and programm each location with the correct p/n, this will guarantee a 100% correct loading plan.
Data verification in package library

RC 5.15 checks now for errors or incompatibility in package library data, i.e. when 8 nozzle mode is selected for a component too big for this mode. The visualisation is simplified as we can select component used only in the program loaded or all, X indicate an error and ! Indicate a warning. A message box gives advices on mouse rollover, helping the operator to set the optimum data.
